FAQ

SULFODYNE® is a patented broccoli seed extract, standardized to 5% free, active, and stabilized sulforaphane.
It is currently the most advanced form of sulforaphane available on the market.

The amount of sulforaphane actually absorbed from broccoli depends on several factors:

  • Individual capacity to convert glucoraphanin, the naturally inactive precursor found in broccoli, into sulforaphane
  • Broccoli quality
  • Cooking method
  • Storage conditions

These variables make sulforaphane intake from food unpredictable and often insufficient.

Most broccoli extracts on the market contain glucoraphanin, an inactive molecule that must be converted into sulforaphane by an enzyme called myrosinase.

Limitations of broccoli extracts containing glucoraphanin with or without added myrosinase:

  • Conversion depends on gastric pH and the individual’s microbiota
  • Myrosinase can become inactive in the stomach
  • Low bioavailability (10–36% of potential sulforaphane)
  • High inter‑individual variability

SULFODYNE® is the only broccoli seed extract:

  • Directly standardized to 5% free, active, and stabilized sulforaphane
  • Requires no enzymatic conversion
  • Provides ~70% bioavailability, up to 7 times higher than conventional extracts
  • Exhibits the lowest inter‑individual variability

Clinical data show that SULFODYNE® has an average bioavailability of approximately 70%, with very low inter‑individual variability, which is up to 7 times higher than conventional broccoli extracts
(Fahey et al., 2016).

SULFODYNE® therefore provides a direct, reliable, and consistent intake of sulforaphane, regardless of digestive conditions.conditions digestives.

To obtain 10 mg of truly bioavailable sulforaphane: ≈ 286 mg of SULFODYNE® is sufficient
vs. ≈ 1,700 mg of a conventional broccoli extract containing glucoraphanin and myrosinase
This allows:

  • More space for additional active ingredients in formulations
  • A better cost per functional dose
  • A guarantee of higher bioavailability

SULFODYNE® is designed for dietary supplements positioned in the following segments:

  • Detox & cellular protection (longevity, nutricosmetics, hepatic detox)
  • Joint health
  • Women’s health (Syndrome premenstrual syndrome, menstrual comfort…)
  • Glucose management
  • Immunity (maintenance and acute phase)

These applications are based on sulforaphane’s ability to reduce oxidative stress and modulate inflammatory responses through activation of the Nrf2 pathway, a key mechanism for cellular protection and healthy aging.

SULFODYNE® is intended for adults, particularly those:

  • Seeking healthy aging through cellular protection
  • Looking to strengthen cellular defenses and support detoxification
  • Women affected by PMS or other menstrual discomforts
  • Wanting to support their immune system

Specific uses (children, pregnant or breastfeeding women) must be evaluated on a case‑by‑case basis in accordance with medical, scientific, and regulatory guidance.

SULFODYNE® is compatible with:

  • Capsules
  • Tablets
  • Ready-to-mix powders

It does not require gastro‑resistant capsules or pH constraints, unlike glucoraphanin‑based extracts.

Recommended doses depend on the intended health application:

  • Detox / cellular protection / longevity: 100mg/day/strong>
  • Immune support (acute phase): mg/day up to 300 mg/day
  • Joint health or glucose management: 100 à 400 mg/day
  • Women’s health(SPM) : 2 × 200 mg/day during targeted periods

Our R&D team can support each project to adjust dosages and combinations in compliance with EU Regulation (EC) No 1924/2006 on health claims.

Yes. SULFODYNE® is protected by:

  • A patent covering its unique sulforaphane stabilization processe
  • A patent related to a prostate health application

SULFODYNE® is :

  • Vegan
  • Non-GMO
  • Europe Origin
  • Made in France

Yes. SULFODYNE® can be combined with:

  • Vitamins (C, B6, B9, E…)
  • Minerals (zinc, selenium, copper, chromium, etc.)
  • Plant extracts (artichoke, saffron, green tea, etc.)

These combinations allow the use of existing EFSA‑approved claims and enhance product differentiation.
Our R&D team can assist in optimizing formulations in compliance with EU Regulation 1924/2006.

No. SULFODYNE® does not currently have an approved or pending health claim in Europe.
However, it can be combined with ingredients that do carry EFSA‑approved or pending health claims (vitamins, minerals, plant extracts).
Our R&D team can assist in optimizing formulations in compliance with EU Regulation 1924/2006.

Recommended storage conditions:

  • Optimal storage: 4–8 °C
  • Ambient storage: possible for limited periods, with potential over‑dosage

Detailed stability data are available to secure shelf life of finished products. Our R&D team can assist in adjusting dosage, overage, and stability depending on formulation and logistics.

SULFODYNE® has a light mustard‑like taste, characteristic of sulforaphane:

  • Imperceptible in capsules or tablets
  • Easily masked in powders with adapted flavor systemss

Our R&D team can support each formulation project to optimize the perception of the finished product.

Sulforaphane is readily water‑soluble, but can be naturally unstable in aqueous environments over medium or long periods.
SULFODYNE® can nevertheless be used in powders to be reconstituted, provided the product is consumed shortly after preparation.

SULFODYNE® guarantees premium sulforaphane quality with the highest bioavailability on the market:

  • Made in France
  • European, non‑GMO broccoli seeds
  • Full traceability from seed to finished product
  • Industrial process governed by strict specifications
  • Quality controls at every stage
  • Europe: plant extract authorized for use in dietary supplements (non‑Novel Food)
  • USA: ingredient has obtained Self‑GRAS status

Final use and communication must comply with local regulations.

Yes. Upon request, a brand license can be provided specifying the conditions for use of the SULFODYNE® ingredient and its associated communication.
